Black Lives Matter Committee Update

The Black Lives Matter committee has held its second meeting, and we are gearing up for another student potluck in the fall. We are brainstorming other ideas to help make students of color at SUNY Plattsburgh feel welcome and safe in our community. Our committee discussed ways of hearing the stories that these students have to tell. We plan to try to work with groups on campus to hold a story slam at UUFP (think Moth from NPR). We would also like to try to attend/support events that students hold on campus. Look for more information to come about an official date for the student potluck and look for ways that you can help. The next meeting for the Black Lives Matter committee will be on July 15 at 11:45 a.m. All are welcome.
