Most fundamental is our spiritual growth. We work to create spaces for us to dig deep and listen — learn — grow.
The BLM social justice team strongly advocated for the adoption of the UUA’s eighth principle, which our congregation unanimously adopted on Dec. 12, 2021. Now, the UU Fellowship embraces the Unitarian Universalist Association’s Shared Values and Beliefs (2024). The six shared values uphold the eighth principle:
  • Interdependence: We honor the interdependent web of all existence and acknowledge our place in it.
  • Pluralism: We are all sacred beings, diverse in culture, experience, and theology.
  • Justice: We work to be diverse multicultural Beloved Communities where all feel welcome and can thrive.
  • Transformation: We adapt to the changing world.
  • Generosity: We cultivate a spirit of gratitude and hope.
  • Equity: We declare that every person is inherently worthy and has the right to flourish with dignity, love, and compassion.
Generally, we meet once a month on Zoom, although sometimes our collaborations with SUNY Plattsburgh can bump into our regular meeting time! All are welcome to these learning circles! We have a rich partnership with SUNY Plattsburgh’s Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Please join us in our activities. View our BLM news for upcoming dates and topics.
We look forward to gathering together, in community, soon.
