In response to the recent shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, the Interfaith Council of Plattsburgh and Clinton County is sponsoring an interfaith prayer service at 7 p.m.. on Friday, November 2, at Temple Beth Israel, 1 Bowman St., Plattsburgh.
As you all are aware, the Pittsburgh shooting, along with evidence of growing anti-Semitism across the nation, have been especially devastating to the Jewish community. This Friday’s interfaith prayer service will be an opportunity to let the members of the Temple Beth Israel community know they are not alone, and that we — along with other members of the Plattsburgh community — can be counted upon to continually speak up against all acts of hatred.
As Unitarian Universalists, we celebrate love — and not hatred — as the central mobilizing force in human life.
Please consider showing up as one UU community on Friday night, ready to demonstrate that Unitarian Universalism means love, solidarity, and justice, especially at times like these.
