The UU Fellowship partners with the SUNY Plattsburgh Interfaith Alliance to present our next movie in the Interfaith Movie Series. In December, 2025, we screened the 2013 American family musical drama film, based on Langston Hughes’ 1961 play. Rated PG. A heartwarming Christmas classic with an all-star cast, including Forest Whitaker, Angela Bassett, Jennifer Hudson and more.

A street-wise teen from Baltimore, who has been raised by a single mother, travels to New York City to spend the Christmas holiday with his grandparents he’s never met. There he embarks on a surprising and inspirational journey. Packed with music and powerful performances.

We gathered for a light supper and then viewed this beautiful film together.
