Serenity Garden – New Date! Because of rain, we’ve moved this outing to WEDNESDAY September 15 (not Tuesday, as previously announced) and we’d love it if you could join us!
Serenity Garden is a roadside plot on the Harkness Rd. between AuSable Forks and Peru. Begun in 2011 by landowner Art Ford, the spot has become in his words “a spot for weary travelers to rest, a place to calm down.” Join Rev. Nicoline and Ursula Jones as they bicycle to the spot from Peru, or come by car and meet at the garden.
People wanting to bike should meet at 3:15 p.m. at Northern Orchard Farm Stand on Union Rd., Peru. The distance round trip to the garden is 11 miles. We will arrive at the Serenity Garden around 4 p.m. Contact Ursula to confirm that you are coming (518-561-7647 or ursulajones9@gmail.com).
People who wish to meet us at the garden can drive directly and meet us at 4 p.m. NOTE: expect gravel pathways with steps and uneven footing, not suitable for people who have mobility challenges.
Or, if they wish to carpool or car caravan, they can meet at the fellowship (4 Palmer) at 3:30 p.m. Henry Morlock will be there and is the contact person concerning rides, car pooling, and the car caravan. Please contact Henry to confirm that you are taking advantage of one of these options. (518-561-7647 or hmorlock@charter.net).

Share the Plate The fellowship shares half of undesignated donations received following our Sunday services with a community organization or charity that does work consistent with our UU values and mission, organizations involved in promoting community services and social justice.
For the month of September, we have selected Grace Pantry Center as our Share the Plate partner. Grace Pantry provides household and personal care items as well as pet food for community members in need at no cost. This includes personal care products (shampoo, dental supplies, soap, deodorant…), baby care(diapers and wipes), cleaning products( laundry detergent, dish deterrent, cleaning supplies) and paper product( toilet paper and paper towels). These items are not eligible for purchase using SNAP food stamps. No other organization in Saranac Lake provides this service.
To donate, mail a check to the fellowship (4 Palmer St., Plattsburgh, NY 12901) and indicate “Share the Plate “Grace Pantry” on the memo line. You can also text “GIVE” to 518-594-8008.
